Privacy Policy
Summary
TV Smarters is only a media player. It does not provide, host or sell channels, movies, series or playlists. All content comes from the playlists the user adds. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for advertising.
1. Who we are
This policy applies to the TV Smarters app for Smart TV. Contact: murrayawm@gmail.com.
2. Data the app uses
- Playlists and access data: playlist (M3U) addresses, server, username and password (Xtream Codes) that you enter. They are stored on your device.
- Preferences: language, theme, favorites, subtitle settings and parental-control PIN, also stored on the device.
- Device identifier: an app-generated code that looks like a MAC address, used so you can add playlists through the app's website. It is not the hardware's real MAC address.
- Network data: as with any internet access, your IP address is visible to the servers the app communicates with (see section 3).
We do not collect your name, email, phone, location, contacts, photos, audio, video or payment data.
3. Who the app communicates with
- Your playlist/content provider: the app sends your credentials and playback requests to the server you configured. That provider has its own privacy policy, for which we are not responsible.
- CDN libraries: the app loads playback components (hls.js, mpegts.js, QR Code, P2P Media Loader) from public content delivery networks (cdnjs.cloudflare.com and cdn.jsdelivr.net), which may log your IP address.
- Playlist entry website: when you use the app's QR code/website to send a playlist to the device, the information you type is used only to deliver it to the matching device.
- P2P sharing (optional, Wi-Fi/wired only): for compatible streams, the app may exchange video segments with other viewers of the same stream. In that case, your IP address may be visible to those peers. This feature does not send your playlists, passwords or preferences.
4. Purpose of use
We use data only to make the app work: play your content, remember your settings and let you add playlists. We do not use data for advertising, profiling or sale.
5. Storage, security and deletion
Data stays on your device. You can delete it at any time in Settings → Clear Cache and Clear Playlists, or by uninstalling the app. We use secure connections (HTTPS) whenever the server provides them.
6. Content responsibility
The user is solely responsible for the playlists and content they add and for the legality of the sources used.
